Friends of JCPL
Mission: The Friends of Johnson County Public Library work to provide resources for programs and material for the Library and to focus the attention of the communities on their most valuable asset – their Library.

You Can Help the Friends
If you are passionate about making your Johnson County Public Library an invaluable resource to the community, then join the Friends of JCPL!
There are two ways to become a Friend: you can volunteer to help the Friends prepare for their book sales and work at a Friends of JCPL Book Sale or make a donation. Click here to volunteer or here to donate to the Friends of JCPL.
Since 2016, the Friends of JCPL are part of the Johnson County Public Library Foundation. The Friends work to recycle donated materials, provide extra resources, boost support for Library programming and advocate for JCPL. The funds raised by contributions and from the Friends of JCPL Book Sales support Library programs and events.

Link your Kroger Plus card to the Friends of JCPL in Kroger Community Rewards in your Plus Card account. The rewards translate into CASH to support the Friends. You’ll still receive your Kroger discounts and points. When linking your card, type “Friends of Johnson County Public Library CY705” in the search box. If you do not have Kroger Plus Card, they are available at the service desk in-store.

Two Ways to Support The Friends

The first Booktique, in honor of Philomena Ross, a founding member of the Friends, was placed at the Clark Pleasant Branch Library. The Friends of JCPL now have four Booktiques, an on-going book sale at each JCPL Branch.
These curated collections of the best of the Friends used books are just $2 each. Cash, checks and credit/debit cards are accepted.

Show your support for the Friends of JCPL with this fun tote bag. Carry your books, your groceries or beach supplies in this heavy-duty tote. The bag highlights all the JCPL Book Discussion groups.
Friends of JCPL tote bags are available at the Booktiques in all four JCPL Branches.

Donating Books or Other Materials
The Johnson County Public Library is happy to receive your donations. Most donated materials are used for the Friends of the Library book sales. Proceeds allow the Friends of JCPL to fund library programs. You may drop off donations at any JCPL Branch during normal business hours. If you have a large donation, deliver materials to the Franklin Branch, 401 State St., Franklin, if possible.
Upon request, a receipt acknowledging your donation can be provided at the time of the donation. JCPL is unable to provide valuations or appraisals of any items donated.
We Accept:
Books and other items in good condition, clean, dry and mold-free, commercially recorded items: music CDs, audiobook CDs, movies on DVD and Blu-ray, Vinyl records, puzzles and games.
We Do Not Accept:
Items that are dirty, moldy, smelly, burnt, damp, etc., magazines, Readers' Digest Condensed Books, textbooks or encyclopedias more than five years old, VHS tapes, law books, music cassettes, computer software, items with original covers torn off or marked "Galley Proof," "Not for Sale," or "Advance Reading Copy."
