Indiana public libraries risk losing essential funding as the Indiana Legislature passed a property and income tax reform bill. This happened at the state level and is different from the federal government's elimination of the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

The first book sale of the year is set Saturday, May 3, 2025. This outdoor sale will be held in the parking lot of the Franklin Branch Library, 401 State St. in Franklin. The rain date is May 10.
Hardcover books are $1, paperback books and CDs are just 50¢ and single DVDs are $2. There is a special collection sale in the Community Room. Rare and special-priced books, multi-disc and full season DVDs and other items will be available there.
